DBNet receives SFIA training
Santiago, January 2011
DBNet is a Software Engineering company dedicated to giving solutions to organizations and companies mostly in the financial sector. As part of the objective of structuring the development of the professionals’ skills, DBNet requested that Segacy offers a SFIA (skills framework for the information age) introductory course.
Victor Cabrera, DBNet general manager says: “The SFIA model facilitates the profile definition within our organization and supports us in the IT professional’s selection and development. SFIA helps us get the correct people with the correct skills according to each role inside the organization, and thereby permitting to improve our performance.”
The course was carried out this past December 22 at the DBNet facilities, and managers and deputy managers from different areas of the company attended. The instructor was Miroslav Pavlovic, manager partner of Segacy, a consultancy company dedicated to IT performance improvement.
Marión Aspée, DBNet professional service manager says: “The course has permitted us to understand the SFIA model structure. Likewise the compatibility with CMMI, ITIL, PMBOK was analyzed, and the implementation paths were discussed. Also, a set of practical exercises was made, based on real world case, which made understanding easier".
It was a good experience; we obtained an integral vision of how SFIA can facilitate the management of competencies and development of our people and the steps to follow for its implementation.
