Segacy participates in SFIA 2010 conference
London, December 2010
SFIA- the Skills Framework for the Information Age – is the industry standard model for the description and management of the competencies for the TIC professionals, and nowadays it has been adopted in more than 100 countries.
The past December in London, Segacy visited the SFIA 2010 conference to see firsthand the value obtained by different participating organizations in the SFIA model application, and to generate contacts with different key players to increase the adoption speed of the SFIA model in Latin America.
In this 10th annual conference of SFIA, the British Airways and Kimberly-Clark executives shared their experiences when applying SFIA to strengthen the IT personnel development.
Another central matter in the conference was the importance of certification to improve skills and to develop the capacities required by IT companies. In this context, CompTIA, IET, and BCS associations exhibited their certification programs and the impact they have generated in worldwide organizations.
Additionally, they exposed higher education and professional training entities, such as Open University and e-skills, and how they have applied SFIA to transform the learning.
